Digital notification of illness via the new employee portal
The new electronic certificate of incapacity for work procedure has been in force throughout Germany since January 1, 2023. This means that the previous paper certificate of incapacity for work will be replaced by a digital solution. Instead of issuing a sick bill, the doctor's office reports the incapacity to work electronically directly to the health insurance fund. The employer then queries the data from the health insurance fund. Find out here what will change for you and how you can report a sick note on the new OVGU employee portal. Please note that reporting through this portal is not available to University Medicine employees. What is the new employee portal? In addition to news from the university, the OVGU employee portal is intended to provide you with important information for your work at the university - from the right contact persons to forms to offers from personnel development, information from our energy management or from the building department. Until now, this information are puplished on different pages and therefore they are difficult to find. We would like to change this with the employee portal. Unfortunately, it will take some time until it is ready and you will find all information bundled here. We ask for your understanding and patience.
